Greg is the founder of Captain Squeeze and the Zydeco Moshers. He started the project after hearing C.J. Chenier perform in Albany, NY at a summer concert in 1995 with his son, Alek. His son looked at him and said, "Dad, you can play accordion like that. You should start a band like C.J.'s." So a family band was born with 12 year old Alek on drums and his 16 year old son Nicholas on bass. They performed fund raising benefit events for the Cathedral of All Saints Men and Boys Choir in Albany where Alek and Nick sang. The response was very encouraging and the band's first gig was at a Mardi Gras party in February, 1996. Greg's background in music began as a teenage band leader playing accordion in an eastern European folk music ensemble. Later he studied jazz arranging and piano improvisation and recorded four fusion CDs on his own GSM Record Label. Until recently, he ran Stonewall Studio in Rensselaerville, NY which served as the CSZM home base for writing, arranging and recording. Since relocation to New Orleans, Greg reunites the band for short tours around New England.
